Eligibility: All Oklahoma schools that are willing to implement the Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Education Lessons in one or more 7th - 12th grade classroom.

Project Period: September 1, 2024 through May 30, 2025

Grant Amount: $500

Number of Awards: 5

Application Deadline: September 1, 2024

LifeShare of Oklahoma has developed Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Education for use in 7th-12th grade classrooms. Each year thousands of Oklahoma students apply for their first driver’s license or identification (ID) card. When they do, they are presented with the opportunity to join the LifeShare Donor Registry. Many students are unaware of what being a donor means and how they can potentially save the lives of fellow Oklahomans by checking “YES!” to donation.

The primary purpose of the LifeShare Foundation grant initiative is to ensure the implementation of the education program. The framework is multidisciplinary in nature and could be piloted by teachers in many academic disciplines. The LifeShare lessons could also be adapted for younger students as well.
