HOW DOES THE LIFESHARE DONOR REGISTRY WORK IN RELATION TO SERVICE OKLAHOMA?
When someone selects “yes” when asked “Would you like to register to be an organ and tissue donor?” at a Service Oklahoma or partner location, the customer’s credential receives a Little Red Heart, and the information is sent in a daily report to LifeShare Network, which operates the LifeShare Donor Registry.
Oklahomans can also register to be a donor online at LifeShareRegistry.org or by phone or mail. Saying “yes” to donation – whether online or at a Tag Agency – is a legally binding decision, meaning their choice will be honored after death and cannot be overridden by your family.

HOW CAN SOMEONE BE REMOVED FROM THE LIFESHARE DONOR REGISTRY?
Currently, LifeShare cannot directly edit the donor registry status of an individual who joins the donor registry at a Service Oklahoma or partner location. The quickest and easiest way to remove an individual from the LifeShare Donor Registry is for them to get a new license or ID and click “skip” when asked “Would you like to register as an organ, eye and tissue donor?” This method will automatically remove the customer from the registry at the next daily report.
Alternatively, if someone does not want to get a new license or ID at that time, they can go online to LifeShareRegistry.org, create an account and remove themselves from the registry with their new account.
If an individual has any further questions about removing themselves from the donor registry, please direct them to LifeShareOK.org.

WHERE DOES THE $1 GO?
As a part of credential issuing, customers are asked if they would like to donate $1 to the Oklahoma Organ Donor Education and Awareness Program. This program and law (Senate Bill 1528) was established and is governed by the Governor’s Wellness Advisory Council.
This money does not automatically go to LifeShare, and can be requested by any organization seeking to educate the public about organ donation.
