• Recall the importance of timely referrals and regulatory compliance in supporting successful donation opportunities.
• Describe the impact of donation on grief, hope, and legacy from the perspectives of donor families and recipients.
• Discuss the role of care teams in supporting patients, families, and the donation process during end-of-life care.
• Identify the potential impact of donor referrals on transplant recipients and future lives restored through donation.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Every referral, every timely call, and every compassionate conversation with a grieving family has a ripple effect far beyond the hospital walls.
In this webinar, Dr. Clayborne shares her journey as a transplant recipient and reflects on what donation truly means from the receiving end. Hospital staff such as nurses, respiratory therapists, social workers, physicians, etc., will gain a renewed understanding of how their clinical diligence in following donation processes, as well as their emotional support of donor families, directly impacts lives saved.
